PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases
is an open-access journal devoted to the pathology, epidemiology, prevention, treatment, and control of the neglected tropical diseases, as well as the public policy relevant to this group of diseases. The neglected tropical diseases are defined as a group of poverty-promoting chronic infectious diseases, which primarily occur in rural areas and poor urban areas of low-income and middle-income countries. They are poverty-promoting because of their impact on child health and development, pregnancy, and worker productivity, as well as their stigmatizing features.

  The Pugh parasitology collection Top

http://parasite.org.au/pugh-collection/

This database contains a selection of pictures collected by Dr. R.E. Pugh and her late first husband Professor P.F.L. Boreham. The slide collection is available on the Australian Society of Parasitology website. The aim of this slide collection is to assist in the diagnosis and research of parasitic and other diseases, particularly rare diseases. In addition, it provides a pictorial display of actual parasites for comparison with the parasites under investigation. However, it is not meant to replace parasitology textbooks and atlases that provide full descriptions of all parasites and the diseases they cause including treatments.
