The malaria atlas project aims to disseminate free, accurate, and up-to-date information on malaria and associated topics, organized on a geographical basis. The malaria atlas project brings together researchers based around the world with expertise in a wide range of disciplines from public health to mathematics, geography, and epidemiology. The ultimate goal is to produce a comprehensive range of maps and estimates that will support effective planning of malaria control at national and international scales. The malaria atlas project and this web portal are principally funded by the Welcome Trust, along with major support from the Medical Research Council and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases is an open-access journal devoted to the pathology, epidemiology, prevention, treatment, and control of the neglected tropical diseases, as well as the public policy relevant to this group of diseases. The neglected tropical diseases are defined as a group of poverty-promoting chronic infectious diseases, which primarily occur in rural areas and poor urban areas of low-income and middle-income countries. They are poverty-promoting because of their impact on child health and development, pregnancy, and worker productivity, as well as their stigmatizing features.

Articles are regularly uploaded on the site and made freely available to registered members for a period of 3 months.
| The Pugh parasitology collection | | |

This database contains a selection of pictures collected by Dr. R.E. Pugh and her late first husband Professor P.F.L. Boreham. The slide collection is available on the Australian Society of Parasitology website. The aim of this slide collection is to assist in the diagnosis and research of parasitic and other diseases, particularly rare diseases. In addition, it provides a pictorial display of actual parasites for comparison with the parasites under investigation. However, it is not meant to replace parasitology textbooks and atlases that provide full descriptions of all parasites and the diseases they cause including treatments.
